Attendees: Jackie Biasotti, William Briggs, Melissa Cornwell, Sally Eversole, Sharon Hamlin, Judy Hoffman, Mary Beth Kropp, Jane Merlo, Jennifer Miller, Eileen Peterson, Amy Smothers, Jill Souza, James Sutter,

I. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M.

II. Committee Updates:

i. Accelerated Programs: Dawn Vollmar reported about a new version of the Accelerated reading and math programs.  AR stores the school’s data, does maintenance, we could have access to over one hundred thousand quizzes, quizzes are frequently added, we can block quizzes, and make it so that there is only access to quizzes through school computers.  The cost is approximately $300 for STAR, AR, and AM and $4 per student.  Discussed the possibility of a demo at an upcoming PTO meeting.

ii.Crab Feed: Eileen Peterson reported that tickets went on sale December 3rd, and ten percent of the tickets have already been sold.  Leadership students have been very helpful by making signs.  They have numerous donations and sponsors.  The event will be February 23rd at Laguna Town Hall.

iii. Science Night: We still need to secure a date, a Tuesday or Thursday.  Mark Peterson will contact Wild Things or Explore It.

iv. Hospitality: Jackie Biasotti proposed items to be given to the two families in need.  Sutter motioned to approve and seconded by Smothers; approved.

v. Open House Art Projects:  This position is currently vacant.  Eileen Peterson and Jackie Biasotti express interest.

III. Treasury Report:

Taxes are complete.  Sutter motioned to approve the treasurer’s report, Peterson seconded; approved.

IV. Secretary Report:

Sutter motioned to approve the minutes; Hoffman seconded; approved.

V. Open Discussion:

Student Leadership: Don’t Laugh at Me: 4th graders have been making presentations in kindergarten and second grade classes so far.  Have been getting positive feedback from teachers.  Just had Leadership Camp with student leaders from LCHS.  It was a huge success and parents have had positive comments about the experience.  Students are excited to work with the high school students and have a more positive attitude about LCHS.  The next one is in February and hope to have students from LCHS again.

Expecting a check from Box Tops soon.

Next Parent Forum will be January 16th.

Meeting adjourned at 8:07.
